Every year my church reads a one year Bible. The one year Bible is the whole christian Bible taken and broken up into sections for each day. Each section is a mixture of old testament, new testament, pslams and proverbs. Each year I say I am going to do it, mostly because it is a church commitment and more to please my mother who is very pressed on her children being good christians. However this year I have decided to truly make a commitment to myself to read and take time to understand what I put my faith in.
After deep prayer, I felt convicted because I realize that I sent hours watch television and hours reading books and articles for pleasure and educational purposes. If I could spend all that time why not devote a little time to God because he has done more for me then I could ever ask for.
I am currently up to date and focused on staying that way. Some might say well it is only the 12th day of Jan., however I still have to make that effort, somtimes it is easier to say I will read it tomorrow. But I am pressing towards the mark.... Updates to come.
