Yesterday I sat with my brother and sister-in-law and a conversation about televisions started. As we sat in their living room and watched their new LCD TV, I looked at the television and thought about the television that I brought while in college. Two different types of televisions but the purpose is the same, to simply enjoy shows or movies. As thought I begin to think about how great my television was in college but all the benefits to having a LCD TV and also the out right obvious reason to getting one. The out right obvious reason was what it was presenting on its screen.
As I made the trip home I really started to think about the televisions, but I started to think about how this view of the two televisions is connecting with my own life, more importantly my love life. As I look out on my love life. I wonder if it just that. My love life is like that regular 20" tube television. Big enough to take notice but you know you want more and better. My love life has been something not worth stressing over, because it services its purpose, it allows for me to be entertained and have something keep my attention for a little while during a busy week. It honestly it is not broken. It has cause me a little pain but it is holding up.
But like everything in life I am ready to move forward and evolve into something bigger. I really would not mind upgrading my 20" tube tv love life into a 32" LCD tv love life. But biggest question when making an investment like this, is am I ready. When you look at tube vs. LCD the biggest difference is price. Now what you pay for is what you get, but still the price is a lot. The question is are you really ready to make that investment. Parts of me scream yes!!! Jump into and get busy. But other parts of me is saying remember when you brought the 20" and what issues you are having with it and what it has left me with.
So like a regular consumer, I am going to look at the pros and cons to both devices. But any smart person. Of course the LCD looks better. But the question is am I ready........
