Free speech an ability many take for granted, while others use this ability to the fullest extent of the law. They take their voice and lift it to the clouds and choose to express themselves the best and only way they know.
The ability to know that you can view something as GREEN and express that you see GREEN and not worry about someone silencing your voice or even trying to change that GREEN to PURPLE is something that most do not really understand is great. But this is an ability that does not truly exist anymore. Free speech is something that seems to be something that is lost in the clouds. If a person looks to open their mouth to speak out on something they need to make sure that they are politically correct and no one is hurt in the end. There do not get me wrong hurt feelings is something that is extremely important in context of how we relate to others, however does that mean that I should not express myself.
But at the end of it all I am left to wonder, why even speak? Why even have a voice if I must wonder about your feelings? I ask this question because in the ability to use free speech you are using the ability to be true to ones self. So if I am politically correct am I being true to ones self.
This is subject that I have been pondering because of the different occurrences that have taken place in public media and also behind close doors. I have seen people turn their backs on friends and people walk away from relationships wanting to cry because of words that were said.
So in the end do you choose to use your ability for free speech or are you politically correct about the situation?
